Now, we “just” need to merge the lists, i.e. the administration cavalcade can begin and a final sorting will be needed to see who will finally fit into this year’s competition programme.
In any case, we are delighted to see a lot of familiar filmmakers, studios and film schools browsing through the lists.
Exactly who they are remains to be seen, but several of the filmmakers who were included in last year’s competition programme have submitted their latest work. We’re not yet to give credit where credit is due, so you can take part in a spontaneous BuSho quiz.
So, among others, the new film by the Spanish director who won the Best Cinematography award for his last year, the Austrian who won the Sziget Special Prize last year, and the Slovakian director of Greetings from Nigeria, a favourite of many last year, were among the entries.
Several former BuSho Student Jury members have returned to us as creators, and what’s more, former BuSho International Jury members also made an appearance among the creators.
We are not selling any bargains when we say that Hungarian creators, and especially animators, have once again set the bar high.
All in all, these are the appetisers for the 18th BuSho competition programme, which we won’t have to wait long for, as it will be announced in early May, fingers crossed for creators, and a reminder for short film fans!
