BUSHO NEWS - JANUARY

Along with the premiere of last year’s making of, the call for entries for the 19th BuSho Film Festival opened in early December and by the end of the year, we had already received a large number of submissions in the well-established categories of fiction, animation and experimental films under 30 minutes.

At the same time, the bestof collection of the best Hungarian films from last year’s festival was launched on its world tour and we received a great response in the first weeks. The selection was well received at Oscar and EFA nominated festivals in Cleveland, Drama, Sofia and Scotland. We have been working with the 26th ZOOM festival for many years and we already delegated to them a BuSho award-winning film, from Balázs Dudás with the title ‘Welcome’ a couple of years ago, and now 3 Hungarian filmmakers (Máté Horesnyi, Bianka Szelestey, Péter Dóczé) have been selected for the festival.

The Festinet international short film network, which we have created, is entering its fifth season, coordinated this year by our colleagues from Porto Femme, and this time the Hungarian delegate is Gergely Tóth’s ‘Listening’ from the 17th BuSho Film Festival.

During the first quarter of the year we will be presenting in person at several international festivals, including Ibiza Cinefest and IFSAK in Istanbul. While of course we are filming, participating in several international exchanges and preparing for the summer filmmaking camps.

Attention! The deadline for entries is 1 March 12:00 CET!
